Character design is where storytelling and creativity truly come to life. In this section, you’ll find a mix of characters I’ve crafted for both personal projects and client work. From whimsical creatures to detailed protagonists, each character is developed with a unique backstory, personality, and visual identity. Whether creating designs for games, animations, or illustrations, I always strive to capture the essence of a character in a way that feels both authentic and memorable.

Character Adaptation for 8-bit Videogame
A tech company approached me with a request to create 8-bit character designs for a new campaign, where the characters would be based on real-life actors who had been featured in their advertisements. The goal was to capture the distinct personalities and likenesses of these actors, translating them into retro, pixelated 8-bit characters for use across mobile platforms. The challenge was ensuring that, despite the limitations of 8-bit design, each character still felt true to the actor’s unique features and expressions, all while maintaining consistency across multiple designs for a cohesive visual experience.
The solution
Character Adaptation
To meet the client’s request, I created a series of 8-bit characters based on the real-life actors. By carefully simplifying their distinctive features and expressions into pixel art, I was able to maintain their unique personalities while adhering to the limitations of the 8-bit style. Each character was designed with attention to detail to ensure they looked cohesive both individually and as part of the larger campaign. The final designs were optimized for mobile platforms, ensuring that they were visually appealing and easily recognizable on smaller screens.

Character Creation for Nurse Booklet
The National Children’s Hospital approached me with a request to design an informative booklet intended for their nursing staff. The goal was to present essential information in a clear, accessible, and visually engaging way. To support this, they also asked for the creation of custom characters that would be featured throughout the booklet—adding warmth, personality, and a touch of lightness to an otherwise technical resource. The challenge was to strike the right balance between professional clarity and visual friendliness, ensuring the material was helpful without feeling too formal or overwhelming.
The solution
Character Creation
To bring personality and approachability to the booklet, I created a series of custom characters inspired by the jackalope—a mythical creature that blends the familiar with the unexpected. The jackalope served as a friendly, whimsical guide throughout the material, helping to lighten the tone while still maintaining professionalism. Its design was tailored to be both endearing and adaptable, appearing in various poses and expressions to complement different sections of the content. Paired with a clean, well-organized layout, the characters helped transform a standard informational booklet into a more engaging and visually cohesive resource for the nursing staff.

Character Design – Personal & Miscellaneous
This section features characters created outside of client work—concepts developed for personal stories, passion projects, or just for fun. These designs give me the freedom to experiment with style, personality, and storytelling, often serving as a space to explore new ideas or bring unique worlds to life. Some characters are part of larger narratives, while others exist as standalone expressions of creativity.
